West Branch is a small town in the Iowa City Metropolitan area. Founded in 1869, it’s the birthplace of Herbert Hoover, the only US president born in Iowa. With only 2,509 residents, it provides all the comforts of cozy suburban living, while at the same time being only 15 minutes away from Iowa City proper. (And a 45-minute drive separates it from Cedar Rapids). 
West Branch is home to the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library-Museum, established 1962, as well as several other historic landmarks (The Gruwell and Crew General Store, the Oliphant Street Field, etc.) The town is also known for its preponderance of public parks, adding to the overall relaxed atmosphere.
